Bon Secours St. Francis Health System CEO Mark Nantz Takes on New Role in Maryland

Bon Secours Health System Announces Mark Nantz as Market Leader for Bon Secours St. Francis (SC) and Bon Secours Charity (NY)/ Executive Vice President for Enterprise Strategic Initiatives Bon Secours Health System, Inc.

 

GREENVILLE, SC – Mark Nantz, Chief Executive Officer, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System has been appointed to the role of Executive Vice President / Market Leader for Bon Secours St. Francis and Bon Secours Charity and Enterprise Strategic Initiatives for Bon Secours Health System, Inc. This new position will include leading enterprise strategic initiatives for the $3.5 billion dollar not-for-profit Catholic health system based in Marriottsville, Maryland, while maintaining operational accountability.  With this change, a dedicated CEO for Bon Secours St. Francis Health System (BSSFHS) will be recruited.  The executive will report to Mark, who will remain in the Greenville area.

Mark joined Bon Secours St. Francis in February 2010. Under his leadership St. Francis has grown in regional and national recognition including a top 10 safest hospitals by Consumer Reports®, Truven Analytics™ 100 Top Hospital, one of the nation’s “Most Wired” organizations, the only hospital in SC with seven Healthgrades 100 Best Hospitals awards, and named to the list of 50 Greenest Hospitals in America. Most visibly in the Greenville community, the system secured the naming rights to the city’s downtown arena in 2013, now Bon Secours Wellness Arena, and recently opened the St. Francis Cancer Center housing the latest technology in radiation therapy.

A national executive search has begun and a local committee comprised of board members, physicians and leadership will select the new executive leader for the Greenville, South Carolina System. In the interim, Mark will remain in Greenville actively engaged as the CEO of Bon Secours St. Francis as the search process progresses.
