Brian Dooley, D.C., A.C.P., receives Spirit of Sherman College Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic

June 15, 2016

Sherman College faculty member Brian Dooley, D.C., A.C.P., was honored with the Spirit of Sherman College Award from his alma mater, Sherman College of Chiropractic, in Spartanburg, SC, at Lyceum 2016. The Spirit of Sherman College Award is presented to Sherman graduates who exemplify the true spirit of Sherman College in their professional lives.

Dr. Dooley is a 2005 graduate of Sherman and returned to the college in 2013 as an assistant floor doctor in the college’s on-campus Chiropractic Health Center, which serves the community with excellent, affordable chiropractic care. He moved from the clinic to the classroom in 2014, but he continues to practice and see patients in his town as owner and operator of Pickens Family Chiropractic, which he established in 2007.

Dr. Dooley has made a tremendous impact at Sherman College through his teaching, mentoring and leadership. Last year he was named coordinator of the college’s new Practice Success Program, aimed at preparing students for the business and financial aspects of succeeding in practice. He serves as the point man for that initiative, scheduling speakers and conducting evaluations to determine whether the seminars are resonating with students. He works diligently to develop the Practice Success Program into one that will transform how students view their future in chiropractic.

This year Dr. Dooley has taken on a leadership role for the college’s Clinic Challenge Experience, which helps students make a successful transition from classroom to chiropractic internship by sharpening their professional focus, energizing their passion for chiropractic and exposing them to success principles for practice. He is truly dedicated to seeing his students succeed for the betterment of both his alma mater and the chiropractic profession.

Sherman College named its 2016 award recipients April 28-30 as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held on the college’s campus in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs.
