Callison Tighe establishes perpetual scholarship at USC School of Law in honor of founder Mike Tighe

The Callison Tighe law firm announce the establishment of The Michael W. Tighe perpetual scholarship for select law students of the University of South Carolina School of Law. The scholarship is named for Mike Tighe, one of the firm’s founders, in honor of his 75th birthday.
The scholarship was announced Tuesday, May 3rd, during a presentation at an event held to celebrate Mr. Tighe’s birthday. Founding member Preston Callison and senior member Ralph C. Robinson, Jr. were also in attendance at the event and received special recognition to commemorate the firm’s 45th anniversary.
Throughout his 52-year career, Mr. Tighe shared his knowledge and wisdom to educate and inspire the next generation of young attorneys.
“This scholarship will be a legacy for the University of South Carolina and its law students,” said Rick Detwiler, member of Callison Tighe. “Mike is a dear friend and partner, and has been a mentor to me and so many others in our profession. We could think of no better way to honor the remarkable career of Mike Tighe than by inspiring others to learn from his example of scholarship, leadership, professionalism and dedication to the practice of law.”
Mr. Tighe was incredibly honored by the recognition, saying, “I was both surprised and humbled by this singular honor given to me by my law partners.”
