Carolina One Marches for Babies

June 5, 2015

CHARLESTON, SC – , SC – Continuing a company tradition that has spanned two decades, Carolina One Real Estate “Marched for Babies” recently in support of the local March of Dimes (MOD) effort to prevent premature births and foster stronger, healthier newborn babies.

According to Meredith Repik, MOD State Development Director, “Premature births cost society more than $26 billion a year and take a high toll on families. Babies born just a few weeks early are at risk of severe health problems and lifelong disabilities. Premature birth is the number 1 killer of newborns.”

Eleven of Carolina One’s Metro Charleston offices combined their efforts to feed more than 2000 walkers in the annual March for Babies event and contributed $12,158 of the nearly $400,000 raised by the walk so far this year.

Oliver Mathewes, chairman of the local board of the March of Dimes and Realtor® with Carolina One’s Folly Road West Islands office said, “At Carolina One we are fortunate to work in a caring and helping culture. I’m so very proud of the scores of Carolina One volunteers and fund raisers who helped make this our best year ever.”
