Carolina One Real Estate Does Push Ups to Keep Kids in School

CHARLESTON, SC – As part of the company’s Carolina One Cares initiative, 8 teams from Carolina One Real Estate participated in the recent Push Up and Up competition to raise money for Communities in Schools (CIS).  The 4th annual push up competition generated more than $46,000 for CIS, a local dropout prevention program; celebrating 26 years of serving at risk Lowcountry high school students.

During the 2013-14 school year, CIS served 14,187 young people in 30 schools.  Of those, 1,233 received case managed services.  In the last year, 96% of CIS students were promoted to the next grade level and 93% of CIS seniors graduated from high school.

The 50 plus agents and staff at Carolina One combined to do 18,470 push- ups in 30 minutes and raised a total of $6,126 for CIS.  Carolina One was the Top Fundraising Corporate Team.  Additionally, the Team Spirit Award was won by Carolina One’s Summerville Main Street office.

Dave Sansom, Carolina One COO, CFO and teams coordinator said, “Carolina Onehad 8 teams that did more than 18,000 push-ups in 30 minutes and raised more than$6,000 to support at risk youth; but equally important and as part of our corporate wellness program, we got four dozen of our people involved in a healthy and competitive exercise.”
