CCSD hires Assistant Executive Director of Exceptional Children

Charleston County School District (CCSD) announced and welcome Madeline Jacobs as its Assistant Executive Director of Exceptional Children.
Originally from South Carolina, Jacobs has gained educational experience in Georgia and, most recently, in North Carolina. Beginning her official teaching career in Georgia, Jacobs taught students with disabilities in grades K-5.
Relocating to North Carolina with her family in 2011, Jacobs served as a program specialist and curriculum specialist with the Department of Exceptional Children for Iredell-Statesville schools. In those roles, she supported multiple schools, grades pre-K-12, as well as collaborated with a team of specialists to begin development of curriculum guides for the North Carolina Content Standards for the Extensions of Common Core.
For the past two and half years, Jacobs has served as a regional supervisor with the Department of Exceptional Children for Guilford County Schools, the third largest district in North Carolina, serving approximately 72,300 students in 127 schools in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

We welcome Mrs. Jacobs to CCSD!”
Jacobs received her undergraduate degree from Erskine College in 1999. She also holds a Master of Science degree from Walden University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Valdosta State University. Jacobs is excited to be back in her home state with her husband, Jeff, and two daughters, Grace and Sarah. She places great value in the success of all students and looks forward to being a part of the excellence that is Charleston County School District.
