CCSD hires Executive Director of Transportation

Charleston County School District (CCSD) announced William “Jeff” Scott as its Executive Director of Transportation.
Scott is a Citadel graduate and has served as the Interim Executive Director of Transportation since December 2015. Prior to his recent appointment, Scott served as the District’s Director of Security and Emergency Management for 10 years.
“I have had the honor of serving the students, parents, and staff of the Charleston County School District for the past 10 years as the Director of Security and Emergency Management,” said Jeff Scott, CCSD Executive Director of Transportation. “I look forward to being able to serve them in this new capacity, and with our partners, to improving every day in Student Transportation.”
During his time in Security, Scott served as the Vice Chair of the K-12 subcommittee in the South Carolina Emergency Managers Association. Before coming to CCSD, Scott was a Lieutenant with the Mount Pleasant Police Department where he held various roles such as S.W.A.T. Team Commander, Precinct Commander, and Special Operations Commander.
“Jeff has brought tremendous value to the transportation program in CCSD since he began his work last December,” said CCSD Superintendent Gerrita Postlewait. “We know he will continue to facilitate operational improvements in partnership with Durham to better serve all of our students.”
