Chapin soliciting feedback through 2016 community survey

June 22, 2016

The Town of Chapin wants to know what is on the minds of its citizens, businesses and utility customers as it begins planning for 2017. The town has created a community survey to gauge people’s satisfaction with various issues, including public safety perceptions, maintenance of streets and utility service, availability of cultural and recreational amenities, code enforcement, transportation concerns and capital improvement priorities.

The survey will be available online and in hard copy at Town Hall, the Chapin Chamber of Commerce and Chapin Branch Library through July 22, 2016. Staff will compile the results and providec at the August 16 Town Council meeting and planning session. In-town residents aren’t the only people encouraged to participate.

“We want folks who live in the greater Chapin area to share their opinions as well as area business owners, people who work in town, and of course, our Chapin utility customers who mainly live beyond our town borders,” said Karen Owens, Chapin’s communications director. “We want to get a pulse on what issues are important to these broad constituencies as we begin the process of prioritizing plans for 2017. Obviously we have limited resources and want to be good stewards of our taxpayer dollars. We want to focus on areas and issues that will continue to enhance the quality of services we provide as a municipality and ensure a high quality of life for Chapin citizens.”
