Charles R. Drew Wellness Center pool area to close for renovations

COLUMBIA, SC – The pool area at the Charles R. Drew Wellness Center will be closed for renovations beginning Monday, Nov. 9.
The remainder of the facility will remain open to the public during renovations, which includes installation of a new Pool Pak unit, pool liner and lockers, as well as painting.
All regularly scheduled classes will continue on schedule. The fitness area, multi-purpose rooms and gymnasium will maintain normal operations.
Members will be provided with a membership verification letter to present at the designated alternative locations during the renovation period.
The following locations will honor the wellness center’s membership for pool activities:
YMCA locations
Harbison Recreation Center, 106 Hillpine Road
Only the pool and locker rooms will be available for use at the alternative pool locations. The wellness equipment, group exercise classes (other than water aerobics), basketball court, or child care services will not be available for use at the YMCA or Harbison Recreation facilities.
The pool area is expected to be closed until June 2016.
