CHS Boys Varsity Cross Country finishes 11th place at Warrior Invitational, Reid Breaks School Record

September 18, 2023

On Saturday the Clinton High School Cross Country Teams traveled down to the Grand Strand to compete in the Warrior Invitational hosted by Waccamaw High School at Pawleys Island.

Clinton competed against some of the very best teams in the state from all divisions. The boys had some outstanding times.

Congratulations to William Reid for his16:29 time which is considered an elite performance as measured by the SCRunners.com website. His time was also good enough for a new Clinton High School record!

“We are extremely proud of our kids. Our practices can be very difficult, but our kids have always responded positively to even the hardest of workouts. They are all seeing the benefits of their efforts. We have amazing leaders who set the tone at every practice. Our younger runners are adapting, they are doing the same workouts as our juniors and seniors and are seeing their times drop,” said Coach Lee Atkinson. “The trip itself was a lot of fun and it was a tremendous experience: Traveling to the coast and competing with some of the best runners in the state can only make us better runners and teammates.”
