City of Greenville Announces New Business Development Manager

GREENVILLE, SC – The City of Greenville has hired Mike Panasko as its new Business Development Manager. Most recently, Panasko served as president of Innovate Anderson for eight years. Prior to that, he held business development positions at The Upstate SC Alliance, as well as local technological start-up companies. Panasko’s official start date was March 30.

Panasko is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and has completed both the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Advanced Symposium and International Economic Development Council programs. As a member of the Economic Development Department staff, he will manage the City’s business development program, which includes city-wide business retention and recruitment, and entrepreneurial development designed to help grow the city’s economy. Additional responsibilities will include working on branding and marketing initiatives and growing relationships with public and private partners.

The City’s Economic Development Department promotes a variety of activities and programs designed to obtain a healthy balance of strategic economic growth and improved quality of life. This is achieved by facilitating private development, implementing programs for business retention, pursuing annexation opportunities, developing and implementing revitalization, recruiting businesses and cultivating residential development.
