August 18, 2016

The City of Greenville Public Works Department has investigated and cleared a wastewater blockage that was reported in a wooded area near the intersection of West Circle Avenue and Kendal Green Drive. Officials estimate that some wastewater was released into the creek that runs parallel to West Circle Avenue and Kendal Green Drive. As a precautionary measure, citizens are urged to stay out of the creek and to prevent their pets from drinking water from the creek.

City crews are working with SCDHEC to disinfect the impacted area. Samples of the water have also been obtained and will be tested.
