City of Spartanburg Joins Local Blue Cross and Blue Shield Companies In National Walk @ Lunch Day
April 19, 2011SPARTANBURG – April 28, 2011 – The City of Spartanburg has joined, local Blue Cross and Blue Shieldcompanies to encourage employees to wear comfortable shoes and take awalk at lunch on National Walk @ Lunch Day® on Thursday, April 28. Other employers are challenged across the state to participate in the walk.
For those who live or work near the downtown area, Blue Cross encourages you to take part in the 5th annual National Walk @ Lunch Day®. The events, which are free of charge and open to the public, will includewalking courses, health and fitness information, entertainment andgiveaways. If interested in participating, the walks are from 11 a.m.until 2 p.m. downtown Spartanburg on Morgan square.
National Walk @ Lunch Day® is an extension of WalkingWorks®, a Blue Cross and Blue Shield program created to help consumers livehealthier lives and reduce unnecessary medical costs due to physicalinactivity.
