College All Star Bowl gets 12 more players

GREENVILLE, SC – December 9, 2013 – Twelve more players will be taking the field this February 14 at Furman’s Paladin Stadium the 2014 The College All Star Bowl.

This group of players joins 22 who signed on the first day of commitments last week to make 34 players to date. More players for the two 50-man rosters will be announced soon. The 11 players who signed over the weekend are:

Tariq Edwards- linebacker, Virginia Tech

Tymeco Gregory- guard, Wofford

Jared Singleton- center, Wofford

James Zotto-safety, Wofford

De’Onte Arnett- guard, Maryland

David Stinebaugh- tight end, Maryland

Braelen Meredith- linebacker, North Greenville University

Robert Caldwell- linebacker, North Carolina State

Terry Shankle- cornerback, University of North Carolina

Lee Pegues- defensive end, East Carolina

Okoye Houston- cornerback, University of Buffalo

Tanner Price- quarterback, Wake Forest

The College All Star Bowl will be aired nationwide on the CBS Sports Network on February 14 with a 6 p.m. kickoff at Furman University’s Paladin Stadium. The game gives special focus to players entering the NFL Draft, creating an opportunity for football players all over the country, including South Carolina. The game also gives the assistant coaches an opportunity to be hired for coaching positions in the NFL as well as universities and other leagues. 

The College All Star Bowl features the Nationals led by South Carolina Football Hall of Famer and National Champion Coach Danny Ford along with his assistant coaches including former NFL and collegiate greats Brian Dawkins, Nick Eason and Patrick Sapp.

The Americans are led by South Carolina and College Football Hall of Famer Willie Jeffries and his assistant coaches including former NFL and collegiate greats Woody Dantzler, Dwayne Harper, Charlie Brown and Marco Coleman, among others. Players accepting invites will be categorized in a player pool and then drafted by either the Nationals or Americans.

The College All Star Bowl will feature open practices for fans, autograph sessions, skills clinics and a scouting combine for athletes to test for NFL scouts. Learn more at www.thecollegeallstarbowl.com.
