So You Think You're Ready For College? The new college school year is just around the corner.  College-bound students are anxiously awaiting the college experience, and their parents desperately want them to succeed.  In his new book, So You Think You’re Ready For College?  Critical College Skills That Don’t Show Up On A College Application, veteran professor Kent T. Cubbage, from Aiken, SC, sends a lifeline to those headed off to college.

College tuition and fees are skyrocketing and jobs for college graduates have become scarce.  There’s little room for error these days when getting a college education.  Dr. Cubbage gives essential tips, tricks and knowledge that will save any student time and money.

“The college experience has changed dramatically, even since the 1990s,” said Dr. Cubbage.  “Students without the tools to navigate these changes will be at a distinct disadvantage.”  The book explores new course delivery methods, including online, hybrid and “flipped” classes, all of which college students will be expected to navigate.

“Improper communication with professors can cause major problems and send the wrong message,” Dr. Cubbage opined.  “It has become more commonplace with all of the new ways of communicating, including e-mail and social media.  I help students with clear and professional communication with their professors.”

The book also covers the basics of the college syllabus, proper decorum in the modern college classroom, and the types of instructors students can expect to encounter.  Also of note is a chapter on how to get the most out of the myriad of new campus services.  “After all, you’re paying for them!” Dr. Cubbage points out.   The book is also sprinkled with funny anecdotes from his many years in the classroom.  It’s a must-read for all college-bound students, as well as their parents.

So You Think You’re Ready For College is available on Amazon for $14.95 and Kindle download for $7.99.
