Collins & Lacy attorney elected Council Chairman of Local Building Association

January 6, 2016

Collins & Lacy, P.C. announced Andrew Cole has been named Chairman of the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Central South Carolina Remodelers Council. He assumed the role January 1, 2016.

The BIA of Central SC Remodelers Council was founded in 1986 by members of the association who felt they needed their own organization to address the specific needs of the growing industry.  Goals of the council are to enhance the reputation of the remodeling industry through community involvement and by educating members and the public on high standards of commercial and home improvement practices.  In addition to providing education and professional networking opportunities for members, the council presents the annual Columbia Remodelers Awards (CRAs) which recognize excellence in local remodeling. Cole is a shareholder with the firm and a certified Circuit Court mediator focusing in construction law, as well as defense litigation, and appellate advocacy. He represents general contractors, subcontractors, developers, architects, engineers, and product manufacturers. Cole assists clients in every step of the process including taking part in property inspections associated with liability cases.

“Being elected Chairman of this council is truly an honor,” said Cole. “Based on my years of construction litigation experience, I hope to help establish an even stronger connection between the BIA Remodelers Council and the building businesses of the Greater Columbia area.”
