- Colonial Life contributed $1.8 million over the past three years to nonprofit partners in the Midlands.
- Employees logged 11,279 hours of volunteer work in 2007.
- 84% of employees participated in this year’s United Way campaign.
- The campaign raised 16% more than last year (really phenomenal in this economy!)
Three new major gifts announced:
- $100,000 over five years to Midlands Tech to create the Colonial Life One-to-One Scholarship Program. Will provide financial aid to students seeking careers in business, health care, accounting, finance or information technology.
- $100,000 over three years to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Midlands. Will help fund after-school programs and other efforts that focus on character development that lead to college scholarships.
- $100,000 over five years to the Midlands Housing Authority to support the community’s comprehensive housing and services plan for the homeless.
