Columbia College Named a “Great College to Work For”

July 24, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC – Columbia College was one of only ninety-two colleges and universities nationwide
recognized in The Chronicle of Higher Education’s seventh annual “Great Colleges to Work For”
report released this week.

Columbia College was recognized for excellence in four categories: facilities, workspace and
security; professional/career development programs; tenure clarity and process; and work/life
balance. The report was compiled based on institutional data and a survey sent to college
employees.

“The best part of Columbia College is without a doubt our people,” said President Beth Dinndorf. “I
am grateful for the sense of community and shared responsibility for our mission among all faculty
and staff. There is a genuine family-like culture of caring here, and I’m so pleased for the College to
receive this recognition.”

Founded in 2008, “Great Colleges to Work For” was designed to recognize colleges and
universities that have been successful in creating high quality workplaces and to gather important
benchmarking data that will benefit the higher education arena as a whole.
