Columbia Fireflies to host job fair for 2016 season

Team looking to hire seasonal employees for inaugural season

 

COLUMBIA, SC – The Columbia Fireflies will be hosting a job fair for the team’s inaugural season at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center on Saturday, February 13th. The event, which will begin at 9:00AMand run until 2:00PM, will take place in the Richland Meeting Room, located on the first floor of the Convention Center.

The Fireflies will be looking to fill the staffing needs that will arise with the new Spirit Communications Park.  The team is looking to fill over 300 seasonal and part-time positions during the job fair on February 13th.

Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 8.51.02 PM“We are excited to bring these jobs to the community, “ said team president John Katz.  “We are looking for qualified individuals to join our part-time and seasonal staff.  There will be a lot of opportunities at Spirit Communications Park and we encourage anyone who is interested in applying to come by the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center on February 13th.”

The positions that the Fireflies are looking to fill are in the following categories: ushers, ticket takers, parking attendants, ticket office sales, merchandise store, field maintenance, concessions and service staff, video production, mascot, and special events.  Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.  Some positions require specific skills and previous experience; however, most positions do not require previous experience.

Opening Day at Spirit Communications Park is April 14th.  The Fireflies are currently taking reservations for Season Ticket packages, including Full Season (70 games), Half Season (35 games), Quarter Season (17 games) and Mini Season packages (12 games).
