Regarding terror events in Brussels

The safety and security of Columbia Metropolitan Airport passengers and staff is always our airport’s first priority.

In addition to having one of the most highly regarded Public Safety departments in the industry, Columbia Metropolitan Airport has mutual aid agreements in place with many major local law enforcement agencies within the area; including but not limited to the FBI, DHEC, and local police departments, fire departments and Lexington County EMS.  This ensures our ability to quickly and effectively respond to any and all safety needs.

In regard to the terror attacks in Brussels, airport operations remain normal and we will continue to be in communication with the FAA, Homeland Security, and the Transportation Security Administration concerning any possible changes to security levels.

As always, staff remains diligent in their duties, while providing the safest environment possible to the users of the airport.

Any further inquiries regarding events will need to be directed to TSA spokesperson, Mark Howell, at (404) 460-2282 or [email protected]
