Competition Heats Up for the 4th Annual YEScarolina Regional Business Plan Competition presented by Motley Rice, LLC

CHARLESTON, SC – Over thirty high school students will go head to head at the May 7th Motley Rice Regional Business Plan Competition for the ultimate prize of $1,000 and the chance to advance to the Mark Motley Foundation State competition. Participating students are coming from eleven high schools in the tri-county area that successfully competed in their class level business plan competitions organized by YEScarolina and made possible by community partners such as Parker Poe, MWV, Suntrust, Motley Rice, The Bakker Family, & The Exchange Club of Charleston.
Throughout the 2014 – 2015 school year, over sixty students presented their full business plans in the classroom to peers, teachers and judges from the business community for a chance to win capital to support their business ideas. In this initial round of competition, the top three students from each of the Class Competitions won seed money in the amounts of $250, $150 & $100, respectively.
Now the top students advance to the YEScarolina Regional Competition presented by Motley Rice on May 7th hosted at the College of Charleston School of Business. This will be the largest business plan competition that YEScarolina has hosted to date. The public is invited to attend the competition located in the Wells Fargo Auditorium at 5 Liberty Street with the preliminary round at 2:30 PM and finals at 5:30 PM.
