June 22, 2016

New name reflects role and scope of services

Greenville Technical College (GTC) is committed to providing the best training for corporate, professional, and personal career development. In the last year, more than 385 Greenville County companies and close to 16,000 individuals have relied on GTC for training that accelerates potential and ensures the success of business and industry.

To better reflect the scope of services offered and the college’s role in attracting and growing business, the continuing education arm of GTC has been renamed as the Economic Development and Corporate Training Division. The changes ahead go much deeper than the division title, however. By aligning credit and non-credit programs to create career pathways for job and credential attainment and for career advancement, the college will offer greater tools for success through Economic Development and Corporate Training.

Program options include classes and certifications in business and leadership, computers and IT, creative careers, health care, industrial/manufacturing/trades, personal enrichment, and environmental health and safety. Classes are offered at GTC and on-site at Upstate companies and organizations. Certificates and seminars are available along with on-demand customized training for clients in health care, manufacturing, environmental/safety, and hospitality. The division also includes the Quick Jobs with a Future program, which provides short-term, job specific training including many classes lasting 90 days or less.
