When The Saddle Pals ride into town for Cowboy Movies!
NEWBERRY, SC – October 16, 2010 – Check your ponies, tighten thosesaddles and put on your chaps, as Saturday, October 16th, the NewberryOpera House will host ole time Cowboy Movies.
The festivities will begin at 9:30am in the lobby with the telling oftall tales by the Saddle Pals, a charitable organization of re-enactorswho appreciate the values and stories of the characters from our oldWest. There will be plenty of opportunity for pictures in the lobbywith the Roy Rogers, the Duke, Zorro, Miss Kitty and many more familiarheroes – and a few villains – from those exciting frontier days.
The movies start at 10:00 AM with greetings and announcements bySheriff John Oates followed by a few songs and guest appearances by ourcowboys. We will begin the cinema portion with Deep in the Heart ofTexas with Johnny Mack Brown and Tex Ritter and a 3 Stooges westernshort. There will be a costume contest for the best little cowpoke andlittle cowgirl.
Kids are free when accompanied by an adult. Grown-up admission is $5.
There will be free Cokes and popcorn. The proceedings are sponsored by COKE.
