Create IT Discovery Day provides high school students the opportunity to explore careers in information technology

COLUMBIA, SC – March 1, 2012 – Columbia, SC – Midlands 9th, 10th, 11thand 12th graders are invited to register now for the Create IT Discovery Day, to be held on Saturday, March 17th from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. atIT-oLogy. High school students will learn about the exciting careers ininformation technology (IT). The goal of the program is to encouragehigh school students to pursue an interest in careers in IT.

Students and faculty from the University of South Carolina, along withIT professionals, will lead hands-on activities exploring the wide range of career options available in IT and the necessary skill sets required for success in those careers. Attendees will be engaged in activitiesdesigned to reinforce what is learned. Door prizes will include iPads,iPods and other technology goodies.

Create IT Discover Day will be held at IT-oLogy, located at 1301 Gervais Street in downtown Columbia, and at the University of South Carolina.Registration is limited; early registration is encouraged.
