DHEC Board to Conduct Search for New Agency Director

COLUMBIA, SC – The S.C. Board of Health and Environmental Control announced today that it will conduct a national search for a new director of the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).
“The board reaffirms its commitment to finding the best possible candidate to lead the Department of Health and Environmental Control,” said Board Chairman Allen Amsler. “The board will utilize all resources at its disposal to identity qualified candidates and will select the strongest candidate to continue its vision for DHEC.”
The board’s personnel committee will lead the search for the agency’s new director. The committee will review applications, conduct interviews, and bring finalists to the board for consideration.
It is the board’s intent to submit a candidate to the governor for approval within a time period that would allow the confirmation process to be completed this session. Submittal is contingent upon finding the right person to lead the agency.
