District Five begins 5-year-old kindergarten registration for next school year, offers online registration

IRMO, SC – Lexington-Richland School District Five has begun enrolling five-year-old students for kindergarten. Registration will take place during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, excluding school holidays.
District Five will also offer online registration for 5-year-old kindergarten this year, providing a convenient way for parents to register their students. The application link is available on the district website and all school websites. Parents and guardians may also visit District Five elementary schools to register in-person.
“We are proud to offer online registration for the first time this year,” said District Five Director of Elementary Education Michael Guliano. “Parents must still deliver some documents, but this new online registration service saves parents time and a few steps when they arrive at the school. It’s just another way that we are trying to serve our families and make the transition into kindergarten a great one.”
To be registered for kindergarten for the upcoming school year, children must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016. Parents of children meeting this eligibility deadline should bring the following to their zoned elementary school:
- The child’s legal birth certificate
- A current South Carolina Certificate of Immunization, or a South Carolina Certificate of Medical or Religious Exemption
- A property tax receipt or a rental lease showing all occupants
- Two utility bills showing the correct home address
