Dr. Ben Carson Announces SC College Chairs

COLUMBIA, GREENVILLE & CHARLESTON, SC – Dr. Ben Carson announced his SC college leadership team.  The team of young conservative leaders will help share Dr. Carson’s common sense message with their peers across the state.

“I am pleased that my team will be joined by outstanding young leaders in SC,” said Dr. Carson.  “If America is going to be saved, it will be because young people are engaged to take an active role in shaping the course of our future.”

The SC leadership team includes representatives from across the state.

Madeline C. Mulkey – Midlands

Madeline C. Mulkey is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC where she studies Mass Communications with a focus in Public Relations. She is a native of Greenville, where she spent the past summer working at the Carson for President Headquarters. She has worked on several campaigns while at USC, including the Victory 365 campaign, as well as the Matt Moore for State Chairman campaign. Madeline is also a devout member of Buncombe Street UMC in Greenville, and the Methodist Student Network at the University of South Carolina. Through the Methodist church, she was a delegate to the Parallels of Peace, Pathways to Justice Conference held in South Korea, and participated on mission trips earlier this year to Ecuador, Canada, and Columbia. At USC, Madeline is a Resident Mentor, a Leadership Scholar, and an active member of the Public Relations Society of America. In the future, Madeline has aspirations to work in the Public Relations field as a spokesperson for not-for-profit organizations.

Brianna Rodriguez – Low Country

Brianna Rodriguez is a junior at the College of Charleston where she studies Communications and Theatre. Brianna is from Greenville where she will continue to work at the Carson for President Headquarters until fall term begins. She is an active member of the Honors College where she serves as a Peer Facilitator, mentoring and leading a group of Honors students through their first year at the College. She has also served as the President of the Honors Student Association for the past year. She is a member of Simpsonville First Baptist Church in the Upstate and attends City Church while in Charleston.

Justus C. Cox – Upstate

Justus Cox is a senior at Anderson University, in Anderson, SC, where he is studying Elementary Education. Justus is originally from Greenville, SC where his family resides. He is a man of faith, family and community.  Justus is also a member of the Call Me MISTER program, a program to help increase the pool of available teachers from a broader, more diverse background particularly among the lowest performing elementary schools. In 2013, Justus was awarded with the Roy Jones Director Award for his hard work, dedication, and service during an internship with the Call Me MISTER program. Justus’s plans for the future is to surpass the norm in education and to take it as far as it can go.

Cameron L. Brown – Low Country

Cameron L. Brown is a member of The Citadel Class of 2018 and is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He is a member of The Citadel’s Republican Society and has earned the position of team leader. Cameron will guide and train incoming Citadel freshman upon arrival in the fall. He aspires to join the United States Army Reserves, allowing him to simultaneously serve both his country and his community. Cameron is a native of Spartanburg, SC and places great emphasis on the values impressed upon him by his loving family. He is an active and committed member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg and a proud Eagle Scout.
