Duke Energy Named to List of Best Corporate Citizens

CHARLOTTE, NC – March 2, 2010 – Duke Energy was named one of Corporate Responsibility (CR) magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens for the second consecutive year.
Duke Energy ranked 43rd on the 2010 list, based on CR’s independent assessment of its performance in seven key areas: environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, employee relations, financial and governance.
“This recognition illustrates how doing business in a sustainable way can benefit all of our stakeholders, even in tough economic times,” said Roberta Bowman, Duke Energy senior vice president and chief sustainability officer.
