A Glorious Cause: Archaeologist Christopher Judge explores Native Society in Revolutionary South Carolina
March 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
On Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the Georgetown Library (405 Cleland Street, Georgetown, SC 29440), as part of “A Glorious Cause,” archaeologist Christopher Judge, who serves as Associate Director for USC Lancaster’s Native American Studies Center, will share his wealth of expertise on what Native American life and culture looked like in South Carolina during the Revolution. Judge’s presentation will dovetail with a free public exhibit that will be on display at the Georgetown Library during April and May 2026, “Resistance and Resilience: Native Peoples in 18th Century South Carolina.”
The Georgetown County Library (GCL) will host a series of 20 public educational programs and exhibits as part of “A Glorious Cause: South Carolina and the American Revolution: A Public History Initiative of the Georgetown County Library.” The programs, which will be free and open to the public, will take place at each of GCL’s 5 facilities across Georgetown County from March 2026 through June 2026. The project is made possible by a $39,300 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) administered by the South Carolina State Library (SCSL).
