Black Economic Mobility Summit
June 15, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
During this year’s Juneteenth Week, REEM GVL is excited to produce its first Black Economic Mobility Summit. The Black Economic Mobility Summit supports business leaders from around the country and community members alike as they share their knowledge and experience to change the economic path for families and individuals in the 21st century and beyond.
Held at the Greenville Convention Center on June 15, 2023, this free informative event hosted by REEM Executive Director Stacey Mills features keynote speaker Aimee Griffin, Founder of the Association of Black Estate Planning Professionals Inc., nine powerful breakout session topics that center on economic relief and growth, and opportunities to support local black-owned businesses, organizing groups, and nonprofit organizations.
Formed in the summer of 2020, The Racial Equity and Economic Mobility (REEM) Commission convened around local and national racial inequities, social justice, and disparities in critical areas that negatively impact the Black community in Greenville County. Since REEM’s conception, the Commission has successfully impacted Greenville through informative town halls, direct action initiatives that combat racial inequalities, and provide support in creating an equitable Greenville for all.
