BACKGROUND:
The Lowcountry Lowline is a visionary linear park that will reclaim a former rail corridor beneath I-26, creating a dedicated 12-foot-wide bike trail and 10-foot-wide walkway separated by a landscaped median. The first phase will extend from Mount Pleasant Street to Line Street, with future phases aiming to connect to Marion Square. Mid-block crossings, neighborhood street connections, and future revenue-generating parking lots are also included in the project scope.
This open house is an opportunity for community members to engage with the project team, preview early designs, and learn more about how the Lowline will improve mobility, connectivity, and public space across the peninsula.
