On Tuesday, November 18, the Heron Institute will host a grand opening for the Heron Institute Learning Lab (The HILL). The HILL will serve as a community hub for virtual students from the Cyber Academy of South Carolina (CASC) and Heron Virtual Academy of South Carolina (HVASC).

WHAT: Grand Opening of the Heron Institute Learning Lab (The HILL)

WHERE: The HILL, 33 Villa Rd., Suite 100, Greenville, SC 29615

WHEN: Tuesday, November 18 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. (Drop-in to explore space will take place at 4:00, and ribbon-cutting will begin at 5:30)                         

The event will begin with an opportunity for families and staff to explore the space, check out sample activities, and learn about programs. Local dignitaries and other members of the community will also be present to learn more and celebrate this milestone.

Additionally, leadership from the Heron Institute and the Charter Institute at Erskine will be present at the event. Live interviews will be available.

This new space will provide virtual students with the opportunity to experience the in-person services and community that come with a brick-and-mortar school. It will offer important wraparound services like small group sessions, academic support, and socialization for students in the Greenville area. The HILL will also have a pantry with supplies that are available to students and families at no cost.

The HILL represents a new chapter in how the Heron Institute supports students, families, and communities with flexible, innovative educational opportunities.
