GREENWOOD, S.C.—The community is invited to join the Lander University Wind Ensemble for its first performance of the 2023-24 season Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium at Lander. This event is free and open to the public.

This is the first of four concerts by the wind ensemble for the 2023-24 academic year. Titled, “La Fiesta,” the performance will feature James Barnes’ “Alvamar Overture,” Robert Jager’s “Third Suite,” and Roger Nixon’s “Fiesta del Pacifico.” The ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Reed Gallo, chair of the Lander University Department of Music, and will feature a robust and exciting group of new and returning musicians.
