The City of Charleston is hosting a free public workshop on how to avoid financial scams and keep your money safe. The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, at 6:00 pm at the Arthur Christopher Community Center on Fishburne Street.

This workshop will include tips on safe money management, learning what the most common scams are, and how you can avoid being a victim.

The Mayor’s Office on Aging Coordinator Jamie Roper will be the main speaker for the workshop. Partners from Bank On Charleston, a coalition of local organizations, financial institutions, and the City of Charleston working to financially empower the citizens of Charleston, will also talk about their programs and how they can best support residents.
