“Let It Grow,” a new play by Chad Henderson and the winner of the 2024 Jasper Project Play Right Series, will be showcased in a staged reading at Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College.

In the play, “Let It Grow” is a popular gardening show hosted on public television. When a cast member leaves and is replaced with a best-selling author, everything gets turned upside down. Directed by Marybeth Gorman Craig, “Let It Grow” is a discussion about changing times, second chances and plants.

Prior to the play, a welcome reception will feature artist Nate Puza in the gallery space at Harbison Theatre. The gallery reception is free and open to the public, but tickets are required for the play.

“The Jasper Project is delighted to partner once again with Harbison Theatre at Midlands Tech to support and promote so much of the exciting new art coming out of the SC Midlands,” said Cindi Boiter, executive director for The Jasper Project. “Our Gallery Series at Harbison Theatre has allowed us to exhibit many of the region’s finest visual artists over the past few years. And now, we have the opportunity to feature new theatre art from renowned local artist Chad Henderson on the theatre’s state-of-the-art stage. Harbison Theatre is a perfect size for some of our community’s more intimate, but still spectacular, events, and we appreciate the hospitality of the entire Harbison Theatre team!”
