First Citizens names Toby Goodlett as Retail Banking Executive

COLUMBIA, SC – March 9, 2009 –  First Citizens is pleased to announce that Toby Goodlett, former division executive for Georgia, has been named retail banking executive and will be responsible for all consumer lending functions at First Citizens. Goodlett’s primary responsibilities will be to create consistency, provide oversight, and increase efficiency across all areas of consumer lending including both mortgage and consumer loan administration. He will be relocating to Columbia to assume his new responsibilities.  

“Toby’s ability to provide leadership combined with his mortgage expertise makes him a perfect fit for this role,” said President and Chief Operating Officer Peter Bristow. 

Goodlett is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a graduate degree from the School of Mortgage Banking. He is also a graduate of the 2000 MBA Future Leaders program. He currently serves as the vice chairman of the board of the North Georgia Technical College He is a former president of the Mortgage Bankers of the Carolinas and is former Group 9 Chairman of the Georgia Bankers Association.

In addition to his community involvement, he holds the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation, was the Mortgage Banker of the Year in 2002, and served as a faculty member of the Mortgage Bankers of America, School of Mortgage Banking.

Mike Starrett, will continue in his role as Market Executive in northeast Georgia and Michelle Lamping will maintain her role as the Stephens County Executive.
