Foster Grandparent Celebrates 21 years of Service to Richland One School

April 16, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Richland One is fortunate to have many long-serving and dedicated volunteers including 91-year old Mary L. Wynn, a Foster Grandparent at Lewis Greenview Elementary School.

Mrs. Wynn says she enjoys working with children and believes that being at Lewis Greenview has added more years to her life. She has been a foster grandparent at the school for more than 20 years. She often reminds students to be respectful of parents and other adults.

In observance of National Volunteer Week (April 12-18), Richland One salutes and expresses its gratitude to Mrs. Wynn, as well as the district’s 4,500 other volunteers who donated more than 210,647 hours of service to our schools last year, time worth approximately $5 million.
