Founders Federal Credit presents Mad City Money at Boiling Springs High School

November 2, 2016

Founders Federal Credit Union will present Mad City Money, a real life money simulation, to 9th grade students at Boiling Springs High School on November 10th, 2016.

During the over two-hour hands-on simulation, students will learn real world experiences having to make smart purchasing decisions based on their debt and income from the Mad City Money situations they have been given. After students are assigned an occupation and salary, they will have to make some decisions regarding housing, transportation, day care and more. To further add to this reality check, there will also be floaters handing out surprise situations resulting in either money windfalls or money shortfalls.

Employees of Founders Federal Credit Union will run the reality simulation created by the National Credit Union Administration. Founders Federal Credit Union is making this available to any high school in the area wanting to help students understand the importance of money management in their lives.

Nicki Nash, Chief Marketing Officer of Founders Federal Credit Union said, “At Founders, we work to provide opportunities for our members to reach their financial goals and enhance their financial well-being. We believe in starting early to promote solid money management skills among our youth. After all, they are our communities’ greatest resource.”
