Governor’s Park Cleanup – Saturday, July 14
July 12, 2012CHARLESTON, SC – The City of Charleston’s Keep Charleston Beautiful is hosting a cleanup event to remove litter and other discarded materials from Governor’s Park on Daniel Island on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The public is invited to come help keep Charleston beautiful.
Volunteers will meet near the dog park at 9:00 AM to clean the wooded and marsh areas along the park’s walking trails. Cleanup supplies will be provided. This cleanup will greatly improve the look and feel of the park, and will help restore the areas around the trails to their natural beauty.
Water and light snacks will be provided near the dog park for volunteers. All ages are welcome; however, youth volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are strongly encouraged to wear pants and closed-toe shoes.
