Greenville Attorney launches Accident Advisor card

April 9, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – April 9, 2014 –  A car accident is one of the most nerve-wracking experiences to be involved in.

A last-second horn honk. The sound of crunching metal and plastic. Shattered glass. It can be a confusing and frightening experience even for the most experienced drivers. Data shows that every American driver will be involved in an accident and the average person will be in three.

Because of that, one Greenville attorney is launching a campaign to raise awareness for what people should to do if they are in an accident.

Greenville’s Brian T. Smith has created the “Accident Advisor” campaign, which his firm is helping to distribute for free to drivers across the region to let them know what to do in case of an accident.

“Anyone can be in an accident, rich or poor,” Smith said. “Our goal is to help accident victims take the right steps in the stress of the moment”

The campaign includes drivers’ license-sized cards people can keep in their wallet and a pamphlet for their glove compartment. It focuses on 11 steps to take when in an accident. Smith said many people are so confused after an accident they don’t always think logically.

“We want people to understand and remember they have certain things they can do to  protect both their physical well-being and their rights,” he said. “If someone is an accident, they are going to need this card.”
