Greenville Technical Charter High School graduates earn 9 Associates Degrees and over $5.6 million dollars in scholarships

Greenville Technical Charter High School (GTCHS) is the first public school to hold their graduation ceremony, today (May 24, 2021) at Fluor Field at 4:30 p.m. Despite the pandemic, GTCHS has 80% of its seniors having at least one college class and 60% of the seniors earning 24 credit hours or more.

This year’s graduating class has seven students who have earned nine Associate Degrees with over $5.6 million dollars in scholarships including a Gates Scholar and a Stamps Scholar.  The class of 2021 also earned more than 14,000 documented community service hours.

GTCHS is the first public charter school in the state of South Carolina and maintains a high standard of education and excellence. The pandemic presented unique challenges for this graduating class, but GTCHS still maintains one of the highest graduation rates in the state.
