Greenville Zoo Announces First Annual Brew in the Zoo
June 15, 2010GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Zoo and Friends of the Zoo invite zoo-goers to tap into the wild at the first annual Brew in the Zoo presented by RJ Rockers. The event will be held Friday, July 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and as part of the event festivities, will include a 21st birthday celebration for the zoo’s orangutan Mia.
Brew in the Zoo was a natural fit for a new event at the zoo, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy a night outdoors among your favorite zoo animals, said Greenville Zoo Director Jeff Bullock. We hope people will join us for a worthwhile fundraiser that will provide a relaxing night of great entertainment.
The event will feature a large assortment of beers provided by RJ Rockers and other local breweries for guests to sample, live musical entertainment by The Soulfeathers and a variety of Sticky Fingers food.
Brew in the Zoo and events held throughout the zoo’s Summer Zoobilee will benefit the zoo’s animal medical clinic. Admission to Brew in the Zoo is $25 in advance at the Greenville Zoo or local BI-LO grocery stores or $30 at the door. There is no limit on the number of samples of beer provided to guests, but responsible drinking is
encouraged. This event is open to anyone 21 and up, and a photo ID will be required to enter. Brew in the Zoo will take place rain or shine.

The Greenville Zoo is open seven days a week, except on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
