Harvest Hope & Bank of America employee volunteers working to feed the hungry this holiday season

$45,000 grant from the Bank to Harvest Hope will aid families of military service members
Bank of America state president and Columbia employee volunteers presented Harvest Hope Food Bank with a $45,000 grant specifically targeted to provide outreach and service to the families of military service members in need of assistance.

“We are so proud to support the amazing work that Harvest Hope does here in the Midlands to help feed hard-working families,” said Kim Wilkerson, President for Bank of America in South Carolina. “This cause is near and dear to our hearts and we are delighted to have our volunteers onsite helping sort food, in addition to the grant we presented today that will help provide many families with meals this holiday.”
The mission of Harvest Hope Food Bank is to provide for the needs of hungry people by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion and education.
With 1 in 6 South Carolinians relying on food banks, Bank of America is committed to fighting hunger issues in our communities through strategic partnerships with local organizations like Harvest Hope. In addition to today’s grant, Bank of America stepped up its support of their annual support of their “Give A Meal” campaign by pledging a 2:1 fundraising match of early donations for a total commitment of $1.5 million.
