Incubator Showcase: Experience Innovation

COLUMBIA, SC – February 27, 2014 – The USC/Columbia Technology Incubator is at it again and hosting their annual open house event, SHOWCASE on February 27th at 6:00 p.m. located at 1225 Laurel Street Columbia, SC. Come celebrate entrepreneurship and the Midlands startup community as we highlight some of our best technology companies. Experience the innovation being created through our unique hands on approach and learn about the impressive growth our programs have achieved over the past year.
The evening will begin with opening remarks from Mayor Steve Benjamin and our staff. The public is then invited to venture through our companies’ dynamic displays. Featured companies include: 52Apps, Afeli Pharmaceuticals, CreteMatt, Digitize Marketing, Environment Health Group, Electronic Health Network, Equinox Analytics, NineFX, NexSolar, Pandoodle, Pinnacle Technologies, TCube Solutions, Tekk Solutions, Trimensional Robotics, USA eShop, Voterheads, and ZillionInfo.
The evening will also include the introduction of the Midlands first startup accelerator, Tminus6. Housed in our facility and partner of the Incubator, Tminus6 is a six month, high-intensity program designed to quickly propel a selective group of promising startups into the market. Accepted participants are provided with seed capital, top-shelf mentoring, and a wealth of resources, all for a 6% equity stake. The first class has already been selected! Meet them along with Incubator companies.
This is a small piece of a much larger story involving the success of our programs and economic development for the Midlands. Company Recruitment has spanned across the United States and even caught the attention of a national publication. Inc Magazine named the Incubator as a top university tied incubator, to watch. The Incubator’s portfolio of startups has expanded to nearly 50 companies with 44% minority owed. The program delivers approximately 1000 hours annually in consulting services and continues to innovate its’ approach in assisting entrepreneurs transition their ideas to reality.
