IT-oLogy Receives Commerce Innovation Grant Funding

Successful CyberSaturday program to expand statewide

COLUMBIA, SC – IT-oLogy is pleased to announce that it has received $100,000 from the South Carolina Innovation Challenge. The funding has been awarded by the South Carolina Department of Commerce to 19 organizations across the state to further innovation, entrepreneurship and technology-based economic development.

The funds will go to expand IT-oLogy’s CyberSaturday program to multiple new locations throughout South Carolina, partnering with existing and new innovation programs statewide. CyberSaturday provides middle and high school students the opportunity to discover the variety of paths into the IT profession.

“Our private partner investment coupled with this great investment from the Department of Commerce Innovation Fund enables IT-oLogy to expand this program statewide, including rural communities, said Lonnie Emard, president, IT-oLogy. “CyberSaturday is a great way for students to develop those critical IT skills.”

 

IT-oLogy is a national non-profit collaboration of businesses, academic institutions and other organizations dedicated to growing the IT talent pipeline and advancing the IT profession.
