Drayton Bird is a advertising man I admire.
He says there is one way to trounce your competition.
It’s the reason Drayton believes he has been successful.
It’s almost entirely because of this one simple thing.
Any of us can do it . . . but only if we’ll do it.
Most people simply can’t be bothered.
Why? Because it takes effort.

Drayton’s strategy comes in one word: Study.
Yes. Study. It’s as simple as that.
What do Drayton and I mean?
The answer is in these 3 simple questions:
1. How often do you study in your field?
We’re talking industry newsletters and publications.
 2. What other business publications do you study?
The Wall Street Journal? Local business news pages?
3. Do you share what you learn with your team?
Drayton says you can trounce your competition.
He’s right . . . and there’s more to it as well.
There are other ways to deal with competitors.

1. Develop a network of non-competitors.
These are people who work a similar client niche.
You can do this as a Master Mind club member.
Work with fellow members to refer business to them.
Help clients who need their goods and services.
Your network will do the same for you.

2. Find ways to work with your competition.
Scarcity thinkers believe they can’t lose any business.
What you get is that much less they can get.
That’s bad thinking.
Believe it. There is plenty of business to go around.
Think abundantly instead.
How can we build a bigger pie for everybody?
Think, “Who would I want to refer to a competitor?”
These are prospects you really can’t help.
Or you can’t afford or don’t want to help them.
Not every prospect will be your Ideal Client.
But they can be someone else’s Ideal Client.
Both of them will thank you for your generosity.

3.  Participate in a Master Mind group.
This is your own personal board of advisors.
