Kale, Banana, Chia, Hemp Superfood Smoothie

The kale, banana, chia, hemp superfood smoothie is always a great way to start the day.

I love to include the hemp and chia seeds. They contribute to health in a favorable way by providing some Omega-3 and Omega-6 as well as fiber. These are nutrients that can be difficult to obtain other ways.

They both provide a nutty flavor which is sometimes a nice addition to the smoothie’s taste. At the same time, we need to remember that hemp does provide some fat, so don’t be heavy-handed with them.

The kale contributes lots of essential nutrients, including vitamin C and a small amount of protein. Give them a whirl and see if they help get you going in the morning!

 

Kale, Banana, Chia, Hemp Superfood Smoothie

  • ¾ cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tbsp. raw shelled hemp seeds
  • ½ ripe medium banana
  • ½ tbsp. chia seeds
  • ¾ cup baby kale
  • 1 cup ice

Preparation: Combine all the ingredients in the blender, and blend until smooth.

Nutrition Analysis: Calories 205; Fat 13g; Carbs 19g; Fiber 7g; Protein 9g; Sugar 7g; Sodium 23mg; Cholesterol 1mg.
