Kitchen Sync restaurant hiring

April 12, 2016

As construction progresses toward completion of what is planned to be Greenville’s first green-certified restaurant, owners of Kitchen Sync are preparing to hire their first employees. Expected to open this spring at 1609 Laurens Road, Kitchen Sync will be a locally owned, full-service neighborhood style grill and pizzeria featuring local/regional fare in a unique, upbeat, family-friendly environment.

Restaurant owner Kevin Feeny and his operating partners have approximately 10 full-time and 20 part-time jobs to fill for front- and back-of-house positions. Managers, servers, cooks, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff are needed.

“Creating an incredible guest experience on a consistent basis will be at the core of what we do,” says Feeny. “We are in the hospitality business and great guest experiences are always predicated on a great employee experience.”

Kitchen Sync will feature a high quality food, beverage, and service product that employees will be proud to represent. The overarching goal is to foster a fun, family-like work environment with strong management support.

“Teamwork will also be fundamental to our operation,” adds Feeny. “We are seeking service minded individuals in order to create a culture of hospitality in our restaurant where team members, management, and crew are as much in service to each other as they are to our guests.”

Once complete, Kitchen Sync will be a 4,000 sq.-ft. restaurant featuring indoor and open-air dining, open kitchen counter seating, a cozy indoor bar, and an outdoor patio seating 25 to 30. The full bar will feature interesting, affordable wines; regionally crafted beers; and counter seating with views into the kitchen and pizza station.

Owned by returning Greenvillian Kevin Feeny and operating partners — sister and brother-in-law, Karin Feeny and John Farrell — the idea for Kitchen Sync came about from a desire to put their collective restaurant and gourmet cooking skills to work in a sustainably responsible way. All three have longtime careers in the restaurant and food service industries and have a variety of experiences: Gourmet catering, fine dining, fast-casual dining, personal chef, and Culinary Institute of America graduate. In addition, Karin and John have 15 years of combined work experience at Whole Foods.

Kitchen Sync’s diverse menu will feature an array of small plates, salads, sandwiches and burgers, pizzas, and will feature dishes drawn from the owners’ collective life experiences in South Carolina, California and New York. Menu items are expected to change frequently as local foods are in season. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner six days a week, Tuesdays through Sundays.
