Last Call to Magnify the Midlands: Nonprofit Enrollment for Midlands Gives, Presented by Central Carolina Community Foundation, Closes Feb. 15, 2015

February 5, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Nonprofit organizations must register for the second annual Midlands Gives by Feb. 15, 2015 to participate in the 24-hour online giving campaign taking place on May 5, 2015, hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation.

The inaugural Midlands Gives was an incredible success, raising over $700,000 for 150 local nonprofits via a one-day only online campaign that went viral overnight. Midlands Gives amplifies donors’ contributions – as low as $20 – to raise funds and friendly competition amongst local charitable organizations. 250 nonprofit organizations already have joined this year’s Midlands Gives Day since registration opened in September 2014.

“We were thrilled with the results of our first ever Midlands Gives Day,” said JoAnn Turnquist, President and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation. “We asked our community to embrace this campaign and they responded beyond our wildest dreams. Most importantly, we proved that when our community comes together as one, we can make great things happen.”

Community members can get involved this year by encouraging local nonprofits they support to register for Midlands Gives before the Feb. 15 deadline. Any 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in good standing with the IRS, and a local office in one of the 11 Midlands counties the Foundation serves, is eligible to participate.

With the deadline quickly approaching, nonprofits are encouraged to register as soon as possible to secure a spot in the last free social media and fundraising training series offered by South Carolina Association of Nonprofit Organizations (SCANPO). Any nonprofit participating for the first time must attend a training session.
Central Carolina Community Foundation is also offering four free training sessions designed to build a profile and strategy for this year’s Midlands Gives event. All participating organizations are required to attend one of these training sessions.

Nonprofit organizations can register for Midlands Gives at http://midlandsgives.org now through Feb. 15, 2015.
