Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Announces Annual Trunk or Treat Event

September 26, 2023

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is excited to invite the public to their annual Trunk or Treat Halloween event. The event, held in the front parking lot, brings together local groups like girl scouts, American Legion Post 25, churches, and others to provide a safe environment for children to enjoy Halloween and receive candy.

Sheriff Don Reynolds mentioned, “We prepare for more children every year and we keep having to build on the number of bags we fill since we have such a tremendous turnout.” In 2022, LCSO handed out nearly 800 pre-filled bags of candy.

This event not only provides a fun and safe Halloween experience for kids but also offers an opportunity for LCSO staff to connect with community members of all ages. Attendees are advised to arrive early to secure a good parking spot nearby and to be cautious when crossing West Main Street, given the increased activity during this time. Patience is requested as the event can draw long lines.

The candy distribution will commence at 5:30pm and continue until 7:30pm or until the candy supply runs out. For those interested in contributing to the event, candy donations can be made by visiting a local Dollar General and placing the items in designated donation bins. Alternatively, candy can be dropped off at the LCSO office during regular business hours. Donations will be accepted until October 25.
